PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” continues to increase volumes of cargo transportation in all types of messages. So, in January 2017, the railway carried more than 28.3 million tonnes of freight. This is 5.7 million tons (+25.3 per cent) more than in January 2016, reported the press-center BONDS.
“These results demonstrate the efficiency of the company. They were made possible by the improvement of operational work with clients of the railway, effective utilization of existing rolling stock. The role already played and the gradual updating of Park of freight cars,” — said the Chairman of the Board of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Wojciech Balczun.
In particular, in domestic traffic transported 14 million tons of cargo, which is more than 3 million tons or 28.1 per cent to the result in January last year.
Export shipments increased by 2 million tons (+26,8%) and amounted to almost 9.5 million tons of cargo.
Import increased by nearly 330 thousand tons (+11.4%) and amounted to 3.2 million tonnes.
Transit has grown more than 300 thousand tons (+23,5%) and amounted to almost 1.6 million tonnes.
