The Commission of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine agreed on the application of Hutchison Ports on the rent of the territory of the Port of Chornomorsk in the area of piers No. 1-6.
According to the Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan, the world’s largest operator of container terminals can start work in our country in the new year. The dialogue concerning cooperation was conducted since the end of 2016. Thus, in case of implementation of this project, it will be the first asset of the Hong Kong company in the Black Sea basin, and the Port of Chornomorsk will be the 49th port where it is present.
At this moment company accounts for 13% of all container shipments in the world. Holding operates in such major ports of the world as: Hong Kong, Jakarta, Brisbane, Klang, Busan, Sydney, etc. Besides, the company operates container transportations through the Panama Canal.
