The new discount scheme for transit through Suez Canal will be introduced since October 1

The Egyptian government announced the introduction of discounts on the transit of container carriers through the Suez Canal. The size of the discount, according to the publication, depends on the number of containers on board.

So, for ships carrying more than 200 containers, the discount will be 3%, while over 500 containers it will be 8%, and more than 3,333 TEU fee discount will be 50%.
