According to the results of a study conducted by the European business Association (EBA), for the first six months of 2018, the so-called “Customs Index of Ukraine” deteriorated compared to the same period last year. Thus, more than a third of respondents from among business representatives assessed the quality of services and professionalism of Ukrainian customs officials as low. The main reason for these indicators, the majority of respondents called corruption, which still can not be eradicated.
According to business representatives, simplification and acceleration of customs formalities, predictability and clarity of procedures, as well as optimization of phytosanitary, environmental and radiological control are crucial.
It should be noted that the whole study consisted of three key thematic blocks: corruption, the quality of customs services, the work of the “single window”.
