The first division of Customs Container Control Division in Ukraine, developed in the framework of the Global programme on container control (Container Control Programme), began to work in the Port of Odessa. “This is a new stage in combating smuggling and transnational crime, the fight against which today is carried out by many world countries. The Port of Odessa was chosen because virtually 100% of containers entering the customs territory of Ukraine, go through the area of activity of the Odessa customs”, – the Chairman of the State fiscal service Miroslav Prodan said.
