The planned reduction of the rates of port charges should increase competitive advantages of the Ukrainian ports, and also to encourage the port industry to increase freight traffic. This opinion was voiced by the head of Administration of seaports of Ukraine Raivis Veckagans, during a working visit to the ports of Nikolaev region on February 21, 2017
“The question of the formation of the port fees sharply stood in front of the Nikolaev havens because of the length of Bugsko-the Dneprovsky Limansky channel. The ports of Nikolaev region did not compete in this part of Odessa, which, of course, concerned ministries, and ASD. In the near future we plan to revise the port dues, and in this regard we hope that the Ukrainian ports will be more interesting for businesses,” said R.Veckagans.
