Since the beginning of 2018, PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” (“UZ”) transported more than 143.5 thousand containers, which is 23% more than the same period last year. This was stated by the acting Chairman of “UZ” Yevgeny Kravtsov, the press service of the company reported.
According to him, the growth of such transportation is primarily due to the competitive speed of delivery of goods regardless of weather conditions, although at present the share of container cargo in the total transportation of “UZ” is only 1.5%, but this figure is planned to increase.
According to “UZ”, a larger number of containers on the territory of Ukraine are transported in the export traffic, their share is 40% of the total volume of traffic (over the last 5 years, the share of exports was 33%). In the total container turnover, the share of container traffic in domestic traffic is 18%.
