The Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration (RSA) Maksym Stepanov developed the step-by-step plan of fast overcoming of corruption in the Ukrainian seaports. He outlined his proposals in a letter to the Minister of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine Ostap Semerak. A press-service of the Odessa regional state administration reports about it.
So, according to Stepanov, it is necessary to make the work of the State Ecological Inspection clear, as well as to develop the order of their interaction with the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), based on international standards. Also, the head of the Odessa region believes that it is necessary to attract independent accredited laboratories to conduct all research on ships.
Maksym Stepanov again pointed out that he insists on the urgent elimination of the State Ecological Inspection for the Black Sea North-West Region and the transfer of its functions to the structural unit ofthe State Ecological Inspection in the Odessa region.
