According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, for the first half of 2018, Ukrainian transport enterprises reduced the volume of cargo transportation by 2.4% compared to the same period last year — up to 301.3 million tons.
Thus, cargo transportation by rail decreased by 5.7% – to 156.7 million tons. Including transportation of goods in domestic traffic and for export decreased by 4.7% – to 130.6 million tons.
Transportation of goods by water transport decreased by 6.8% – to 2.2 million tons. In the total volume of cargo transportation by water transport, foreign countries accounted for 57.2%. The volume of foreign goods decreased by 0.9%.
Freight transport by road increased by 5.6% – up to 87.1 million tons. The turnover of goods of road transport enterprises increased by 6.5% – to 20.282 billion ton-kilometers.
Cargo transportation by air transport increased by 22.6% to 0.04 million tons. The cargo turnover of aviation transport enterprises grew by 35.5% to 153.2 million ton-kilometers.
