According to the data of SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA), in the first half of 2018, Ukraine’s seaports increased the container ship compared to the same period last year by 37.3% to 391 202 TEU.
Thus, the turnover of imported containers increased by 30.9% — to 189 925 TEU, export — by 54.2%, to 189 058 TEU. The turnover of transit containers decreased by 24.8% to 12,219 TEU.
Among all ports of Ukraine, the undisputed leader in container turnover is Odessa sea port (72.6% of the total turnover of all ports), which during the reporting period managed to increase the container by 12.5% — up to 284 029 TEU.
