According to the analytical agency Container Trade Statistics (CTS), in April, there was an increase in global demand for container shipments (+5.8% compared to the same period in 2017), and amounted to 13.85 million TEU.
Container exports from Europe in April 2018 amounted to 2.46 million TEU, which is 5% more than in April last year. The volume of imports increased by 6% to 2.8 million TEU. Compared to March, European container exports fell by 2.8%, while imports grew by 6.5%.
The volume of export transshipment through North American ports in April increased by 10% to 1.42 million TEU, while in March export growth was 2%. The volume of imports in April increased by 3%, while in March they decreased by 8%, respectively.
