During the period from January to April Ukrainian seaports increased container turnover by 38,7%

According to the data of SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA), during the period from January to April of this year, the seaports of Ukraine increased container turnover compared to the same period in 2017 by 38.7% – up to 257,539 TEU. Thus, the share of import containers in turnover increased by 31.9% – to 124 925 TEU, export – by 56.4%, to 124 312 TEU. Turnover of transit containers, on the contrary, decreased by 24.6% – to 8302 TEU.

Total processing of containers carried out the following ports: Odessa port (73.8% of the total container turnover of seaports), seaport “Chornomorsk” (15.8%), seaport “Yuzhny” (10.3%) and specialized seaport (SMP) “Olvia” (less than 1%).

Also note that in general, the processing of containers in weight terms increased by 36.3% to 3,369 million tons. Transshipment of containers in quantitative terms has increased by 33.6% — up to 165 433 pieces. Container handling in quantitative terms increased by 33.6% – to 165 433 units.
