In the first quarter the container turnover of Ukrainian sea ports increased by 40%

According to the data of SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA), during the period from January to March of this year, Ukraine’s seaports increased container turnover compared to the same period in 2017 by 40.1% – up to 195,716 TEU. Thus, the share of import containers in turnover increased by 33.9% to 97,783 TEU, export containers – by 55.3%, to 91,426 TEU. The turnover of transit containers decreased by 16.8% – to 6507 TEU.
The total number of containers processed was: port of Odessa (74.9%), port of Chornomorsk (16.2%), port of Yuzhny (8.7%) and specialized seaport (SMP) Olvia (less than 1 %).
