“Ukrzaliznytsia” (UZ) has approved the procedure for determining the payment for the use of its own wagons. Thus, the process of deregulation of the wagon component of the tariff for the fleet of own railway carriages of the company is completed. The corresponding steps of UZ were carried out in accordance with the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of February 1, 2017 No. 64 and the Decree of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine of December 7, 2017 No. 425 “On Amendments to the Collection of Tariffs for the Carriage of Goods by Rail within Ukraine and Related to them services “.
Previously, the price for transportation services by the park of UZ wagons was established by the state. As a consequence, it was significantly lower than that paid by real shippers. The society received less revenue. The difference between the fixed and market value of wagons came to intermediary companies or provoked corruption schemes inside “Ukrzaliznytsia”. According to experts, the volume of this particular market can be up to 5 billion UAH in year.
