Railway authorities of Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Georgia signed a memorandum, under which the countries are going to jointly develop ferry services on the Black Sea. It is about creating a joint venture to operate two ferries, which belong to PJSC «Ukrzaliznytsia» – «Heroes of Shipka» and «Heroes of Plevna». The participation of Georgia and Azerbaijan in the joint venture is an opportunity for Ukraine not only to increase ferry sea freight through the Black Sea, but also a kind of insurance. Thus, Ukraine is trying to bypass competitors on the Black Sea.
