Turkey has restricted the export of grain from Russia

Turkey has decided to impose duties on grain supplies from Russia at the request of the local exporters of agricultural products. In an interview with Bloomberg said the head of the Assembly of exporters of Turkey Mehmet Buyukeksi.

“We are not satisfied with the Russian import restrictions and visa regime”, — quotes Agency the words of M. Buyukeksi.

Russia, in particular, lifted restrictions on the import of tomatoes and some other Turkish products, reminds Bloomberg.

Turkey from March 15, 2017, exclude Russia from the list of countries importing agricultural products duty-free. Now in the list of countries with duty-free import, which may without payment of 130 per cent duty to import raw materials for further processing and exports, Russia and several other States do not.

Earlier, the Russian exporters and their clients to the Turkish grain import with zero duty, but it was delivered only for processing and subsequent export, for the sale of products in the domestic market still had to pay 130% of the fee.

Turkey is the second after Egypt largest importer of Russian grain.

Russia introduced a ban on the import of a whole list of agricultural products from Turkey as from 1 January 2016 at the background of aggravation of political relations.
