Belarus begins imports of Iranian oil through Ukraine

JSC “Belarusian oil company” has contracted 80 thousand tons of Iranian oil (the seller was organized by the national Iranian oil company NIOC). About it reports Reuters, citing four people familiar with the source. According to the Agency, the transaction was the first in Minsk for the purchase of Iranian oil.

Oil from Iran, according to Reuters, was sold to the Polish “daughter” of “Belorusneft” – company Beloil Polska. Raw materials will arrive in the Ukrainian port of Odessa and the Latvian Ventspils, from where the railroad will go to Belarus.

Because of the “gas conflict” Russia sharply reduced oil supplies to Belarusian oil refineries from the third quarter of 2016 (by one third to 3.5 million tons, and in IV – another 500 thousand tons to 3 million tons). Limitations extended to 2017

Recall that in late October 2016. the first group of Azerbaijani oil was transported via the territory of Ukraine at the Mozyr oil refinery project tolling processing.

Note that “Ukrtransnafta” has almost completed the filling of the second branch of the pipeline “Brody – Mozyr” Azerbaijani oil, allowing cheaper pipeline supply from Ford to Belarusian refineries.
