10 Feb 2017 container ship Victoria (IMO 9290165, flag Madeira), EN route from Antwerp (Belgium) to to get to Newport (USA), ran aground near the Danish city Kalundborg, reports Lloyd’s list.
The hull in the area of ballast tanks and fuel tank were damaged. Leakage of oil and fuel did not happen.
The container ship was able to move away from the shoal, then anchored. On the scene to monitor the situation arrived the ship anti-pollution Gunnar Thorsen, two patrol boats and a helicopter.
It is expected that in the near future Victoria will arrive in Hamburg to inspect damage and the decision on necessity of repair.
