The developers test version of the automated system for distribution of empty freight cars on 14 December 2016. demonstrated in PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”. About it reports press-center BONDS.
The initial automated phase will be distributed among the customers of the rolling stock in the hoppers and boxcars managed by the branch “Center of transport logistics”. Testing of this system will last almost a month and a half to perfect all the necessary options to make it as convenient and to expand the number of criteria which will be allocated cars.
To enter into pilot operation the automated system, which is called as “Control shipment of empty cars”, is scheduled on December 27. Now the system would consider the main criteria for the distribution of empty cars between customers: the minimum distance of empty run from the discharge to the next loading, minimum of empty mileage of the car, minimal downtime of the car in anticipation of loading, the need for pre-concentration of the cars at certain stations, and more than 30 existing technical and commercial limitations on the use of the car, including the presence of the Convention’s prohibitions, the need to undergo repairs, carrying out “washing” and “steaming” cars, restrictions of areas of cruising cars (travel abroad), etc.
“Well, that system worked. This will effectively, impartially and objectively, in the operational mode to provide the needs of our customers — shippers. This is another step towards transparency and elimination of the human factor”, — said the Chairman of the Board of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Wojciech Balczun.
Manager in the automated system will be able to see both the number of orders from customers, and the number of available empty wagons at the stations where they are. The result of the Manager — rapid processing in this system, the waybill for the shipment of the car to the customer address of the customer. The client will receive information about the cars sent to his address and number and also to obtain data on the current waybill. Automated distribution of freight cars is synchronized with the other two as “Mesplan” and as “Client”, which are part of the unified automated control system of freight transportation.
The system will make the distribution of empty cars between clients fair and will increase the efficiency of the wagon fleet. By September 2017, is planned to improve and expand the set of criteria and conditions that make it relevant for the distribution of all types of freight cars, including grain.
The developers note that as “UPV” — a unique system and the distribution of cars will be based on many factors. At the same time continuing the development of other components of the automated control system of freight transportation, including monthly transportation planning as “Mesplan”.
