The minutes of the Arctic State Commission of the Russian Federation includes Indiga seaport

It is stated in the report of the governor of the NAO Mr.I. Kosheen that Indiga seaport became the part of the protocol of the State Commission of the Arctic. The Commission is headed by Dmitry Rogozin recommended that the Ministry of Transport and Administration of the NAO to undertake the construction of the complex overloading in the area of port Indigo.

The State Commission on the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Maritime Board held a final meeting on the main issues in the beginning of December, in St. Petersburg. The event was dedicated to the construction of social and economic sphere and the development of port infrastructure on the territory of the Arctic. It was also considered the plans of two departments in 2016.

In the development of the Arctic zone are involved a number of other ministries. Among them are the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Natural Resources and the leaders of them made a presentation at the meeting.

At the meeting it was noted that the construction of the port of Indigo which will be ice-free and has a favorable geographical position and it will promote the development of maritime routes of the northern zone of the country. Part of the infrastructure is already included in the plan of economic and social development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2020. It was also noted that for further construction in the area the federal support will be required.
