According to the press service of the Odessa seaport, SE KTO becomes multifunctional due to the expansion of the range of processed goods. In particular, we are talking about the development of grain transshipment with the help of specialized containers, as well as general cargo.
The general director of the enterprise, Anastas Kokkin, said that the decision to diversify the business was caused by such factors as tough competition on the Black Sea, a drop in container handling rates, and the need to fully load the quays of the Quarantine pier. For transfer of grain SE KTO uses specialized 20-foot containers of the Ukrainian manufacturer, patented and certified by the Shipping Register of Ukraine from the point of view of safe operation under the 1972 Convention. In addition, the company has been handling over-sized general cargo for one and a half years. However, despite the transformation of the terminal into multimodal, containers will still be a priority cargo.
