Odessa sea port controls the trucks overload

Odessa sea port in coordination with “Ukrtransbezpeka” continues to implement the requirements of the Ministry of Infrastructure aimed at weight control of trucks.

According to the analysis in comparison with the 2015 weight of one vehicle in the export operation decreased by 33%. Despite the increase in the number of cars handled (19 620 last year against 29 447 in the present), was seen a trend of falling volumes of goods carried by road transport by 10% compared to the same period of 2015 years (398 736 tonnes compared to 359 363 in the current year) and as a consequence, there was a decrease number of trucks with cargo loading violations from 21 to 6%. It should be noted that transshipment of dry cargo increased by more than 5%. Nevertheless, the volume of goods transported by road is not increased. Hence the conclusion: the growth of transshipment of dry cargo was due to the reorientation of the goods to the other modes of transport (river, rail).

With regard to the daily average of the loaded truck in comparison with last year, here there is a clear progress. The average weight of one loaded truck decrease by 24%. Nearly five times reduced the number of trucks with loading violation.
