MIU has transferred for approval a draft resolution on the abolition of the 75% deductions from activities of seaports

The Ministry of infrastructure gave approval for a draft decree on the abolition of the 75% deduction on the activities of the enterprises of sea branch. In parallel, work is underway on the establishment of a Maritime administration, the reforms of ASPU and negotiations to attract global port operators. About it on October 20, 2016, during a meeting with trade Union representatives from shipping companies, said the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian, the press service of the IMU.

“We launched for approval a draft resolution on the abolition of the 75% deduction on the activities of the enterprises of sea branch. And I hope that through the joint work of the business, the ports of ASD and ministries, we will be able to convince of the need to abandon 75% of the collection,” — said Vladimir Omelian.

Separately, the Minister stressed the importance and potential of attracting the Ukrainian market of global port operators.

“The Ministry is holding talks with global port operators “DP World” and “Hutchison Ports”. We are negotiating not only to ensure that they are invested in the Ukrainian economy and the Maritime industry, but also to ensure that they brought the goods. It is something without which we have no chance of development. I hope that if they go to the Ukrainian market, you will have a stable job, decent wages”, — said Vladimir Omelian.

Infrastructure Minister also stressed that on behalf of the President of Ukraine, the IMU continues to work on a new methodology for port tariff and charges: “the Ukrainian ports have to be competitive in the black sea basin and, consequently, we need to reduce the list and the amount of such payments”.
