Logistics does not keep up with the pace of development of the agricultural market of Ukraine

According to the President of the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) Mykolai Gorbachev, the lack of readiness to work with large volumes of grain logistics industry remains the main deterrent to the growth of export potential of Ukraine.
Thus, according to Gorbachev, Ukraine has great potential to increase grain production and, accordingly, to increase exports. We grow an average of four tons of wheat and a little more than five tons of corn per hectare. While in the United States the average yield of corn is eleven tons, and in France the average yield of wheat is eight tons per hectare.
The infrastructure is well developed, but logistics does not keep up with the development of the agricultural market. Every year it is possible to grow up to 100 million tons of agricultural products and export about 70 million tons, but for this “Ukrzaliznytsia” needs to increase the existing fleet of cars about twice, increasing the number of car supplies. Also, the head of the UZA noted that the construction of terminals will continue in the next ten years. According to Gorbachev, more promising are the terminals that grain traders build for their own needs, while independently engaged in attracting freight traffic.
