According to the press service of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, for 8 months of 2018 “UZ” transported 21.2 million tons of grain cargo, of which 15.5 million tons in the direction of ports. Since the beginning of the marketing year 2018/2019, in July-August, more than 4.9 million tons of grain were transported by rail, of which more than 4 million tons were exported to ports.
It is also worth noting that as of mid — September, the regional branch of PJSC “UZ — “Southern railway” — transported almost 1.2 million tons of grain of the new crop, and according to marketers, this figure could reach the level of 8 million tons.
According to the management of “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the total number of grain carriers is enough for the transportation of grain cargoes, and today there is a need only to improve logistics and optimize the excess infrastructure.
