Press service of the Kherson Regional State Administration announced the reopening of the checkpoint “Chongar” on November, 30 of this year. Currently the movement of the PPC is completed. The information from the press service was published with reference to Maxim Soroka who is an assistant of the head of the liaison with the media of the southern State Border Service of Ukraine.
According to M. Soroka changes in location of CPR can improve the complex and create an opportunity for additional device paths and pedestrian traffic. In general, the number of bands has increased, as well as added space for parking vehicles.
Also it was performed the transfer of customs and border controls to the administrative part which allows to reduce the distance traveled by pedestrians. Work on the creation of service areas completed in early December this year. Information was announced by Mr. Vorobyov, who is a chairman of Genichesk district administration.
Due to the transfer PPC vehicular traffic was stopped for a certain period and checkpoint “Chongar” worked with pedestrians only.
